How to make the most of Aspen Snowmass’ Closing Weekend celebrations for the 2025 ski season

While it’s hard to believe with the recent snow storms and powder days at Snowmass, we’re in the final countdown of the 2024-25 ski season. And what a season it was! We celebrated the opening of the new Coney Express lift, giving skiers and riders better ski-in/ski-out access than ever to the entire Snowmass resort, right from their doorstep at Woodrun V; enjoyed more bluebird ski days on the mountain than we could count; took full advantage of plenty of epic powder days during big storm cycles; soaked up the views from all our favorite on-mountain dining spots at Snowmass… and the list goes on! As always, Snowmass shined this winter for its family-friendly environment, spectacular range of world-class skiing terrain, and huge variety of top-notch dining, entertainment and recreation options.

With just three weeks of skiing left for the year, we’re ready to make the most of each day of fantastic spring skiing, and celebrate the end of the season in style until Snowmass closing day arrives on April 20th. Join in on the festivities to put an exclamation point on your ski season and close it out with gusto!

  1. First and foremost: The skiing is AMAZING! With more than 60” of base depth and multiple feet of fresh snowfall hitting Snowmass mountain in February alone, the conditions at Snowmass Resort are incredible – perfect for making the most of those spring turns. When you stay at Woodrun V, you’ll be just steps away from the slopes at Snowmass – the biggest resort in the world-renowned four-mountain Aspen Snowmass collection – so you’ll have unbeatable ski-in/ski-out access to all 3,300+ acres of its exceptional terrain. Ski right from your door to the new Coney Express Lift, and get ready for a full day of fun on the slopes!
  2. Second, the weather is ideal. While Colorado is perhaps best known for its skiing and high altitude, right up there on the list is its fantastic weather, with more sunny bluebird days than just about any other top ski destination, peppered with epic snowstorms that deliver the best fresh powder turns out there. You simply can’t go wrong, whether nabbing first tracks on a powder day, or ripping down the slopes under sunny, warm skies. Combined with the longer days of March & April and extended lift hours for more time on the slopes, it’s a recipe for spring skiing that is sure to deliver a lifetime of memories for you and your family.
  3. Speaking of family, there’s no resort more family-friendly than Snowmass, making it the perfect place for a family spring break. The resort’s vast terrain means there’s a plethora of kid-friendly runs, and something for everyone from novice to expert skiers. There’s also an amazing array of on-mountain restaurants to choose from, where families can sit outside and enjoy the spring sunshine and top-notch views, while taking in delicious eats of all kinds. Off the slopes, the options for family fun are even more extensive, with everything from sledding and tubing to ice skating and swimming at your fingertips – plus more world-class dining and entertainment options centered right in the heart of Snowmass Village.
  4. An aprés scene that can’t be beat! From on-mountain aprés celebrations and specials at Sam’s, The Cabin and Elk Camp at Snowmass Resort, to music and s’mores at the Snowmass Mall, there’s something for everyone when it comes to post-ski entertainment. The celebrations are further elevated in the spring, when you can bask in the sun as you toast to another incredible day on the mountain. Aspen Snowmass also offers a variety of special events during springtime to make things even more fun, and truly take your spring ski trip to the next level.

Daily Winter Activities at Snowmass

From all of us here at Woodrun V Snowmass: Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, and we hope you enjoy the celebrations in style! Cheers!

Ski season is officially here, and we could not be more thrilled! While the beginning of the season is always exciting, this winter there is a new addition at Snowmass that has us feeling especially elated: the Coney Express Lift.

This all-new high-speed quad is only steps away from the door at Woodrun V, further enhancing the property’s already unparalleled ski-in/ski-out access. With the new lift, which just made its debut on December 7th, it’s now easier than ever for Woodrun V guests to gain quick, direct access to the full spectrum of terrain offered at Snowmass Resort – all 3,330+ acres!

Coney Express effectively replaces the Coney Glade chairlift at Snowmass, providing an all-new access point to the full scope of the mountain’s ski runs, and significantly increasing the resort’s capacity to transport skiers and riders out of its base area. And for guests of Woodrun V, it’s practically like having your own private lift! The lift originates on Fanny Hill across from the Snowmass Mall – just right down the hill from Woodrun V! – and ends at the top of Coney Glad trail, providing convenient access to the Big Burn, Alpine Spring and Sheer Bliss zones. It features a midway angle-station for additional loading, and continued access to Snowmass’ highly celebrated terrain park.

In addition, the new lift will add an option for foot passenger traffic to unload at its midway station, allowing foot passengers to access The Cabin and the Spider Sabich Race Arena at Snowmass. Of note, The Cabin was also renovated and expanded for this season, with a new patio and grill/bar area. Add this stop to your bucket list for your Aspen Snowmass ski vacation, and enjoy lunch with a view or a vibrant après atmosphere.

With the new Coney Express lift now running, Woodrun V guests will enjoy a more elevated experience than ever this season, with truly premium ski-in/ski-out convenience that quite literally lets you put your skis on at the door and go!
